The first eBook created for the MACH Alliance is ready to download

We are on the verge of massive changes in software development, and eCommerce. Consumers demand seamless UX no matter where they are and what devices they use. To stay relevant, enterprise organizations must re-think their approach to technology and find a way to mould it to their individual business needs. But how? All of these solutions are currently available, and we highlight them in the newly published eBook "MACH Approach to eCommerce."

Consumers' expectations are changing at breakneck speed, and "MACH" - which stands for Microservices-based, API-first, Cloud-native SaaS, and Headless solutions - is becoming the best possible way to meet these expectations. "MACH" is, however, not a sector-specific toolset ready to implement, but more of a new philosophy for building future-proof software systems.

How can we be bold enough to use the phrase "future-proof" if we have already pointed out that consumer expectations change at breakneck speed? That is exactly the point. MACH doesn't pretend to be able to foresee the future and prepare for what comes next. This approach assumes the opposite, focusing on providing businesses with the agility to get them ready for whatever comes. How?

Their general idea assumes that technology is used to serve the business, not the other way around. All of the units that an application consists of are focused around business goals and can be deployed or removed as needed, any time.

However, this flexibility comes with some challenges. These are also discussed in the "MACH Approach to eCommerce" eBook. Even if we know that MACH solves many of the challenges companies face nowadays , we can’t suggest it’s a ‘magical cure’ for all problems or suggest that all businesses should consider that direction. We all know it is never that simple.

Instead of promoting the MACH approach, we wanted to provide you with the information you need to make your own decisions.

And so this eBook explains headless architecture. Find out about differences between headless and traditional CMS’s; why microservices may help your business to keep up with the consumers; see whether they are suitable for your organization; dive into details of real-live implementations of headless CMS’ based on Amplience's experience; and - last but not least - read the stories of merchants moving towards a headless approach in the interviews with Jonathan Ribas, CTO at Zadig & Voltaire and Halil Koklu, CTO at LoveCrafts.

To make sure all topics are highlighted properly, we gathered all kind of knowledge from MACH Alliance members such as:
